After taking the MBTI test, I was told that I was an “ESFJ”. That stands for extroverted, sensing, feeling, and judgmental. I completely agree with the letters I was given and definitely felt that the description sounded just like myself. I am a very outgoing person that gets recharged, or most of my energy, from larger crowds rather than just being by myself. I enjoy being in charge and delegating, I use my emotions over actually thinking situations through, and I like organization and when everything is clear. However, the description also told me that I would make a great elementary education major. Personally, I could not see myself teaching elementary school children because it would overwhelm me and make me very anxious. I like children, I just do not see myself teaching them everyday. On the other hand, as a student and being an “ESFJ”, the description was spot on. I usually like to get all of my ideas out in the open, I never wait to say any of my opinions when it comes to group work.
In my ideal classroom, I included a chalkboard wall, a Chick-Fil-A, hard wood floors with fluffy rugs, and of course design tables and mannequins. I chose to put the chalkboard wall because it is a fun way to help students express their ideas and it is more exciting to write on a wall with colorful chalk pens rather than on paper with a pen or pencil. I had to include a Chick-Fil-A because we all get hungry and who can turn down a nugget tray? Not me. The fluffy rugs with the hard wood flooring opens up the room but also makes it cozier and makes it feel more like your bedroom at home, making everyone feel more comfortable. Lastly, I chose to add in design tables and mannequins because that’s my true passion. I love putting outfits together and I like to think that I can design new clothes for a runway one day (definitely dreaming big, I know).
Too much chick-fil-a and none of us are doing runways! LOL 🙂 Do you see any connection between your MBTI and the room you created?
