Over the years I have come to master the art of using MLA style citations and writing format. I first learned how to cite a source from a book in the 7th grade. We were doing research on monkeys and had to write a paper about a specific one that was assigned to each student in class. I was a little shaky at first but after countless papers and research I now have the rules memorized and engraved in my head forever. On the other hand, APA citations are not as easy to understand according to my previous use of MLA format exclusively. This is the first year that I have had to use APA citations and format in a writing class. I am a little confused about the way that authors are cited in papers but I do believe that I can begin to master the use of APA style writing as well with a little practice. I am glad that were have a badge dedicated to using APA so that I can truly become accustomed to the different citations and way that this format is used while writing a paper. APA and MLA are very similar with only a few quirky differences, however, Chicago is something completely foreign to me. I have never even read a paper that has Chicago type citations and if I have then I have no idea how to recognize it either. In my experience I think that in my schooling career I will strictly use APA format from here on out since I will be attending Dental school
